Why You Should Order a Photo Blanket and How to Do It

Have you ever seen a photo blanket before? Better yet, have you ever heard of a photo blanket before? If you have never seen or heard of a photo blanket before then you are missing out on something amazing. Photo blankets are the new way to create and preserve memories for years to come.

A photo blanket is a blanket with a black and white or color photograph constructed onto it. There are many individuals who automatically love the concept of combining a photo and blanket together; however, others do not. If you are one of those individuals it is likely that you are wondering why you would need a photo blanket. The reason is simple because it could add a personalized touch to your home.

Making a photo blanket is not as easy as it is to make a photo t-shirt. There is a lot more design and skill that must go into developing a photo blanket. Because a photo cannot simply be ironed onto a blanket it is often difficult or impossible for an average individual to do without the proper training. For this reason many photo blankets are purchased from a company or an individual who makes them for a profit. The easiest way to find an individual or company who specializes in making photo blankets is by using the internet. Simply by keying the words photo blanket into a search engine you should be provided with a list of photo blanket makers.

While the internet has made it easier to find blanket makers they have also made it easier for low-quality products to be purchased. When trying to select an individual or company to design your photo blanket you will want to make sure that you know who you are dealing with. A company website should offer any relevant training or experience and it should definitely show photographs of completed blankets. If you purchase a photo blanket from an individual or a company who does not provide samples or important information you are putting yourself at risk for being scammed into paying a large amount of money for a low-quality product.

The amount of time it will take for your photo blanket to be completed will all depend on the individual who is making it. If you need a photo blanket for specific time or event you are encouraged to place your order well in advance. Once the completed product is received you can do whatever you want with it. Whether you choose to cuddle with your blanket or put it away for safe keeping you will likely be pleased that you made the purchase.

Digital photography is quickly becoming the preferred way to take pictures. If you are in the market for a new camera, consider the following advantages of digital over traditional film photography.

In the long run, digital is less expensive. All photos are recorder are on memory device within the camera and then downloaded straight to your computer. You skip the need to keep buying rolls of film and paying for developing. You can send unlimited copies of the same picture to friends and relatives without spending a penny extra.

You see your pictures quicker. Most digital cameras allow you to view your photos immediately. There is no waiting and worrying about whether or not that perfect shot turned out. You can take a picture of that new baby and immediately download it to your computer to share your good good news with friends and relatives. Theres no need for anxious grandparents to wait days or even weeks for a picture.

Most digital cameras have built in editing features. Cropping and re-centering the picture to make it look its best can be done easily. You no longer have to worry about a stray hand distracting from the main subject of your photo. Sharpening can be done immediately to bring out the details. Within minutes you can have a print-perfect photo.

You avoid the frustration of running out of film and having to find a store that is open in the middle of an important event or on vacation. Depending on the size of your memory card and the setting of file size and quality, which you often control, you can store a couple hundred pictures on one tiny card. That is the equivalent of nine or ten rolls of film.

These are just a few of the advantages of digital photography. It is definitely worth considering as you search for your next new camera.

Why Ive gone Digital And Still Keep My Old Camera

There has always been a debate about what is better. Traditional cameras using film, or the so called new technology, storing pictures in digital form on memory cards, in computers or on CD-Rom.

As being a photographer for more than half of my life, I stuck with traditional film for very long. About 7 years ago I started to supplement my work with photos taken the digital way. A point and shoot camera with just 640×480 pixel resolution was the most attractive gadget I had these days. Its lens was even capable of doing close-up work, using a macro switch.
That Fujifilm DX-7 was upgraded with a bigger Memory-Card and the camera served me well for several years.

Anyway, over time, I was still more satisfied with the possibilities my collection of Pentax SLR cameras gave me. It started with using the best lenses for each picture or just using a Zoom (which offers a range from wide angle to telephoto), changing the shutter speed to either stop or blur the motion of objects in the picture, use external flashlights, change the aperture openings to adjust the range of sharpness and lots more. Not forgetting the better picture quality I could get from a 35mm negative or slide. I was happy to use my heavy, solid metal camera.

The world changed for me when camera makers like Nikon and Canon introduced their Digital SLR Cameras. I went to my local camera shop every week and debated with the salesman about advantages and disadvantages of the models they had on sale. Also I checked with lots of users in online services to get first hand feedback on how these cameras performed. Finally, when Pentax introduced their Digital SLRs, I couldnt wait much longer. I needed to have one of those.

With the Pentax 1st DS have a whole list of advantages over smaller Digital Cameras:

I can use the same lenses that fit my traditional camera
Have full control over speed and aperture
I can see the picture immediately after it is taken
I can shoot a series of pictures and choose the best (at no extra cost for film or paper)
A good resolution of 6 Megapixel which allows quite big prints
It weights more than a compact digital camera, so you can hold it steady more easily
Make use of all the filters, flashlights, lenses and accessories I have collected over the years.
Storing the pictures on the PC via a fast USB connection
Up to 1 GB storage on a SD Memory Card (about 380 jpg photos)
Selecting only the best photos for printing

With all these advantages of digital SLR Cameras, you may wonder why I still keep my old 35mm film cameras with me. First, it is emotional, and second, photographing the old fashioned way keeps me calm. You just need more time to produce an excellent, satisfying photograph (because you cannot see the result right after the shot).

Some people don’t and for very real reasons…

I’ve been taking professional photographs for about thirty years. Ever since I started, I’ve heard a constant comment. It is always said something like “I just don’t take good pictures” or “the camera just doesn’t like me.” Almost invariably, when this statement is uttered, everyone within earshot gives a chuckle, or immediately starts assuring the speaker that they really do look good. Sometimes it’s true, but often it’s not. Some people do not photograph well it’s that simple.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has ever been able to compose a list of physical features that cause someone to photograph well, or photograph poorly. Game show guru Monty Hall believed that the secret was in the size of the head. He insisted that all of the hosts of his shows had large heads. Obviously, this worked for him his unmatched success attests to that.

Hollywood stars and starlets are very persnickety about how they are photographed. There are extreme cases, such as actor Alan Ladd. Mr. Ladd was quite short, and insisted that trenches be dug throughout the sets to make him always appear taller. When a trench wouldn’t do, he had stools. Barbra Streisand goes to great lengths to ensure that only one of her profiles is photographed. Note that she will always have her escort on her right arm to cause photographers to shoot her from the left side her best side, according to the singing actress.

If you’ve looked at enough photographs, and seen enough TV and movies, you’ve been struck by one or two anomalies. Someone who is frightfully unattractive looks great in a photograph, or, someone who is stunningly attractive looks horrible. What causes this? Is the photographer lacking skill? Bad lighting, perhaps? Did the subject have a bad day? Of course these things could be true, but there’s actually a very real, constant explanation for this phenomenon: dimensions.

We humans live in a world of three dimensions: front/back left/right up/down. Since we have stereo vision, we can see all three of these dimensions. Using geometry, we can see how the dimensions are arrived at. A straight line is one dimension: front back. To create the second dimension, make a line at a right angle to the first line, and do so until you have a square. This is two dimensional. Now, make squares at right angles to the first square until you have a cube that’s three dimensional. Voila!

We suspicion that there are more dimensions. Using the first three dimensions as the guide, if you took a cube and made cubes at right angles to it, ultimately you’d have a 4-D cube sometimes called a hypercube, or “tesseract.” The problem is, we can’t even imagine a tesseract, much less make one. It’s all theoretical. Some things in geometry are hard to grasp, but a tesseract is impossible to grasp.

One of the problems we have in understanding geometry is simply this: a two dimensional object, such as a square, has absolutely NO depth (thickness) at all. This means that it is completely invisible when looked at from the side view. But what’s this all got to do with why you don’t look good in photographs? Simple: people are three dimensional, and photographs are only two dimensional.

Anytime that you lose a dimension, your view is penalized, per se. If I take a head-on photograph of a cube, it appears as a square. I can do some ‘tricks’ to fool the viewer, such as make sure there is a shadow showing that the square is actually a cube, or taking the photo at an angle which shows at least one other side of the cube. But no matter what I do, the picture will always be a two dimensional view of a three dimensional object. Needless to say, there is a substantial difference between a square and a cube. And there is a substantial difference between seeing someone and seeing a picture of that same someone.

In people, all sorts of things affect how we perceive them. Many of these things are only present because of the third dimension. The distance between the ears and the tip of the nose, the depth of the eye sockets, the distance the nose and chin protrude from the face, and so on. None of these elements of a person’s appearance are necessarily discernable in a photograph, and yet they are easily seen in person.

Some people are attractive because of the 3-D elements. Others do not depend on 3-D elements so much for their attractive appearance. And some people have such a string feature that is visible in 2-D, that any loss of 3-D is not very noticeable. Paul Newman, for example, was quite famous for his striking blue eyes. Blue is not dependant on dimension. Try to find a professional photograph of comedian/actor Jimmy Durante that did not emphasize his notoriously prominent proboscis. In a frontal view, he was just a mediocre looking fellow, but when his face was photographed to accentuate his large nose, he became quite unique.

If you or someone you know doesn’t photograph well, take heart. You might try getting a digital camera and shooting picture after picture each one showing just a modest shift of the angle of the head. Don’t just change the angle side-to-side, but up and down as well. Looking slightly upward changes everything, as does looking slightly to one side. Do this in full, but not direct light such as under your porch, or on a cloudy day. Dont use the flash! If this doesn’t achieve the desired result, try the same thing, but have a prominent light source. You can do this by pointing a light directly towards yourself, or by sitting in a darkened room, with only one light source in the room.

The techniques above will help to exaggerate the illusion of 3-D in the 2-D medium of the photograph. Do this enough, in enough positions and with enough lighting changes, and you just might be able to get back those good looks the camera’s 2-D limitation has stolen from you. Good luck!

Have you held a Canon digital camera in your hand? If you have not had the ability to take a few photos with these high quality and often superior cameras in the digital line, you should get the chance. There are plenty of opportunities out there for you to get the best possible product for your needs. Here are some of the things that a Canon digital camera can provide for your specific needs.

Quality versus Price: There are many digital cameras on the market today. Some of those that offer the best pictures are those that are high priced though. Yet, with many of the Canon line, you will find a more affordable choice that matches up to other brands more costly choices. In short, you get more for your money in quality here for a much lower price.

Features: While there are several Canon digital cameras for you to choose from, you will find that most are packed with not only the latest and the greatest features but also with the things that really make a difference in your viewing. The point and shoot capabilities are just one of these features. Consider the LCD screen, the various options in lenses and various other features.

Easy To Use: Another aspect of the Canon digital camera is the fact that it is more affordable to use than virtually any other type of camera out here. That is not to say that it is just so simplistic, but it seems as if canon has built in the features that are easy to use to provide you with the highest level of quality photo possible.

There are plenty of other reasons that you should considering a Canon digital camera. If you like a high quality, affordable and well designed camera, it is possible that this may be the right line for you to consider

If you are on the market for a digital camera, then there are several things that you need to do to get the best product for your money. It can be confusing to look at the options that are provided and determine which the best of the best is. If you try to talk to a salesperson, you are likely to find out that he doesnt care which the best is for you. Hes looking for a good investment for his own paycheck. There are several things you should consider when selecting a digital camera. Here are some to think about.

Megapixels: This is the most important aspect of any digital camera. In short, this is the amount of storage that the camera is offering you. The more that it has, the better off you are in selecting the right choice overall. Yet, you do not always need to purchase the highest level of megapixels in order to get a good product. Depending on your specific needs and your budget, select the level that is the best for your needs.

Size: The size of your digital camera is an important consideration as well. There are many to choose from but sizes are shrinking. When it comes to purchasing a compact digital camera, make sure you go for one that offers the highest quality rather than the smallest size.

Test Before You Buy. Before you try to bring home your compact digital camera, make sure that you get a test run with it from your provider. You will find that most good quality retailers will allow you to take a picture or so to determine the quality that it offers. This can help you to make the best decision possible.

Luckily for all of us, digital cameras are coming down in size and in price. You can do more with these unties that ever before. For that reason, take a bit of time to select the highest quality that you can afford and enjoy it as much as you can.

Mobile telephones have progressed a long way from their humble beginnings as the analog bricks of the 80′s as technology has offered increasingly more complex features and options. Once no more than just a phone, now the average new cellphone has more on-board processing power than the combined computing power used to land men on the moon. Miniaturization, modern programming, and constantly improving technology driven on by a hungry market means that the cellphones of today are not just a phone, or even an organizer, but instead, they are a centralized multimedia platform. They offer many of the same advanced features as a PDA, like Bluetooth, flash card compatibility, radio, and fully featured integrated digital cameras. Much like the cameras found on PDAs, the digital photography offered by multimedia phones is not brilliant, but rather better suited to casual photography of friends at opportune moments. The advantage of having an integrated cell-camera is that as a phone is something that people tend to always carry with them, they will always have a camera handy.

If high quality digital photography is what you’re after, then you’re better off buying a mobile phone and camera separately. While camera technology is getting there for things like PDAs and mobiles, the range of advanced options for a cell phone camera don’t even translate to the standard set of features for a basic digital camera. A comparison of some prominent models on the market today follows, giving consideration to the cost, feature set, and level of quality offered by each device.

The Palm Treo 650 Smartphone runs the Palm OS version 5.4 on a 312MHz Intel CPU. It has 23MB of user memory available, expandable with the addition of either an SD or MMC flash cards. The display is a 320×320 pixel 16-bit color TFT, and it features a 0.3MP digital camera, capable of taking photos or capturing video. Feature wise, it’s impressive, but doesn’t weigh up against similar products for the price. The camera in particular is under-powered for the amount of processing behind it. A Smartphone 650 will set you back about $550.

The Sony Ericsson W800i has 32MB of user memory, and comes free with a 512MB Memory Stick Pro flash card. Featuring a display resolution of 176×220 pixels, and a 2 MP digital camera, it is fairly light on the features, and would be best described as a basic high-end mobile phone. The 2MP digital camera goes some way towards justifying the cost, but it doesn’t compare to buying a digital camera separately. The W800i will set you back around $480.

The Nokia 7610 is a competitive entry on this list, featuring a fairly rich feature set by comparison to the other examples. However, it has only 8MB on-board memory, expandable via a MultiMediaCard flash card. It comes with a free 64MB MMC, with a 176×208 display in 16-bit color. The 1MP digital camera supports a very wide range of image formats, as well as two modes of video in low or medium resolution. It supports multiple video formats, has a 4x digital zoom. The Bluetooth enabled system itself has a web browser and email client. The main problems with this phone are the relatively short lived battery, and the small amount of on-board memory. But at just $310, the feature set gives this phone serious bang for the buck.

If we compare each of these to a normal digital camera, it is easy to see why they are not a good choice if you intend to focus on photography. $350 gets you a Canon SD500 7.1 MP digital camera. It features 3x optical zoom, along with 4x digital zoom, Television AV/out port, proper strobe flash with red-eye reduction, heavily customizable setup, optional automatic lighting conditions compensation, a tripod mount point, full motion video recorded at effective resolution of 0.3MP. It has an SD card slot, and a host of other features too numerous to name. This is not an elite, professional grade camera, however it outperforms every camera phone listed by at least 3:1. and at a lower cost too.

Cellphones have evolved to a point where they more closely resemble a laptop than anything else, combining a truly impressive range of multimedia technologies into one tiny device. Displays are improving rapidly, as is the level of functionality offered by modern mobile phones. As they become more numerous, these features will become increasingly useful as vast networks of people, all armed with such versatile devices will begin to take shape. As of now, however, they are fairly unfocused in their capabilities, offering a very wide range of features, but not delivering any one of them so well as to replace the technology from which the features first came from. While camera cellphones can have their uses, they still do not lend themselves well to high quality photography. For casual use with friends, or general purpose use, a camera phone can be a lot of fun, and while it combines a lot of devices into one convenient package, it doesn’t deliver the a high level of quality.

There is so much to consider when looking for the best digital camera to suit your needs. It is important to decide what features matter the most to you. The main factors, apart from cost, in assessing which is the best digital camera for you are as follows:

Size and weight
Resolution
Level of Control
Options and features

The size and weight of the best digital camera for one person varies greatly to that of another. If you want a camera that is lightweight and will slip into a pocket or purse then a ultra-lightweight cameras will probably be the best digital camera for your needs. These are often the least complex of the digital cameras as they offer point and shoot simplicity and are the best digital camera for beginners. At the other end of the size and weight scale comes a bulky 1? pound SLR camera for the serious photographer who wants the best digital camera with all of the accessories to take the perfect shot.

The resolution you need can narrow down which is the best digital camera for your requirements. The resolution affects the detail of an image for printing quality and the higher the resolution the greater the detail. The best digital camera for printing standard size pictures has a lower resolution than if you want to create oversize prints.

The best digital camera for being able to edit and manipulate your images is one with a resolution of 5 or 6 mega pixels so that you can crop the images with photo editing software and still print them out full size.

The amount of control that you have available will also be an issue in finding the best digital camera. Some people think that the best digital camera is one they can use in an automatic mode and let the camera do the work. Others choose the best digital camera that allows them more input in the creative process by manually adjusting the focus, speed, aperture and other settings. A simple point and shoot camera is the best digital camera for people not wanting to make any setting changes but the range of manual controls available on other cameras varies with make and model. The latter will require more research to find the best digital camera to meet your requirements.

The next part in deciding which is the best digital camera to buy is to assess what, if any, additional features you would like. Here are some suggestions:

Audio annotation to add commentary to your images.
Burst shooting which allows you to take multiple pictures in rapid succession for fast moving action shots.
Macro photo capability that focuses on extreme close-up detail for images of flowers, insects, etc.
Movie mode with audio to take short videos.
Panoramic stitching function, often included in a camera’s software package, which joins individual images into a multi-photo panoramic picture.
Weatherproof casing

The most important aspect in choosing the best digital camera for you is ensuring that you are comfortable using it and have some fun taking pictures.

The term PPI is not used much. Many people confuse PPI with DPI or have never heard the term PPI. PPI is a measurement of the quality of a print and understanding this term and what the number means can help you determine the right sizes and resolutions for your next digital photo print.

PPI: stands for Pixels per Inch. PPI describes the number of pixels per inch in a photo. PPI is a function of the number of pixels the cameras sensor supports (also known as megapixels) and the size of the photo. To calculate a photos PPI simply multiply the page length by its width in inches. The result is the number of square inches on the page. Now divide the number of pixels the sensor supports by the number of square inches. The result is the number of pixels per square inch. All that is left to do is to find the square root of this number. Following is a table that shows the PPI for various page sizes for a 5 megapixel camera.

page size 4X6 – 456 PPI
page size 5X7 – 377 PPI
page size 8X10 – 250 PPI
page size 11X14 – 180 PPI
page size 16X20 – 125 PPI
page size 20X30 – 91 PPI

Of course, we would like to say, that this is PP Group a leading team in the photography branch, because this is our name! Because we are PP Group. But PP in the Digital Photography means something else.
Our research shows, that most of the people use this abbreviation – PP in digital photography conversations to say the word Photoshop shortly. It comes out from the first and the last letters in the word – P. Normally the Photoshop software is in use from the Professional Photography, because it offers a lot of abilities for picture optimization and getting higher images quality.
Another use for PP with the photography stuff is when people are trying to say Post-Processing shortly. In this case people are talking about the Post-Processing in Digital Photography or for short: PP in Digital Photography.
You can see the PP abbreviation, when it says Photographic process. It means the processing, developing photographs. As we understand there is even a book, called this way Photographic Processes, which describes the PP color-negative / color-reversal processing, shooting and developing photographs. Color and B&W (Black and White) film and print processing, as well.
And talking about print processing we remembered that there is another PP meaning, which is used in digital photography conversations. Thats right! This is the Photo Printers stuff or the Photo Papers stuff. There are even some printers models that are called (something) PP. One of them is a Canons model. Or photo paper, called high gloss photo paper PP 101D or something similar.
May be you will hate us, but we feel the need to share with you, that there is another PP abbreviation and its for Pocket Pouch. Believe us we think that this is not normal too, but it is a fact. The pocket pouches for your digital cameras can be offered in some sites or pamphlets like PP for digital cameras.
Believing or not, but you may see PP like pages meaning in Photography as well. There are lots of lessons, courses, lectures and articles that are written on different places mostly in the internet and they are quotations from some photography books. When it is attended by numbers it is too possible PP to be a page number. Mostly it looks like this way: pp 136-278, and means, as you know pages 136 to 278.
Well, it is not so difficult to understand what is PP in the Digital Photography now, when you know the rest of the text. You can assess which meaning will be helpful for you and to understand the main text idea.
